In 1964 she worked briefly for the Home Lumber Company and then 25 years for Tri-State Electric Supply, both in Coffeyville. He was an avid volunteer coach for the baseball and basketball middle school teams. He grew up in Coffeyville where he attended grade school and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in 1981. While at Fort Riley near Manhattan, he met Helen Louise DeWilde of St. George, Kansas, at a dance. Sheldon was best remembered as a Rodeo Clown, protecting contestants from the livestock and always enjoyed the clown reunions.
